Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data RankFuel (“RankFuel”, “we”, or “us”) collects from you, how we use it, and the choices you have over your data. We've tried to write it in plain English instead of legal boilerplate.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data we need to operate the service:

  • Account information. Your email address, name, and authentication identifiers, collected via our auth provider (Clerk) when you sign up.
  • Business profile. Information you provide during onboarding — business name, website URL, niche, description, target audience, language, and tone preferences.
  • Generated content. Articles, keywords, images, and Reddit reply drafts the service generates on your behalf, plus any custom instructions you set.
  • Integration data. If you connect a publishing destination (Webflow, Wix, WordPress, Shopify, etc.), we store the credentials and identifiers required to publish on your behalf.
  • Billing data. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we do not store credit card numbers, expiry dates, or CVCs.

We do not collect IP addresses, behavioral analytics, or device fingerprints beyond what your browser sends to a standard web server.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Operate and improve the service (generate content, deliver articles, etc.).
  • Send service-related emails (account status, billing, technical notices) and occasional marketing emails about RankFuel features.
  • Bill you and process refunds where applicable, via Stripe.
  • Diagnose technical issues you report to support.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email footer. Service-related emails are required and cannot be unsubscribed.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share limited data only with the third-party services required to operate RankFuel:

  • Clerk — authentication and user identity.
  • Supabase — database and file storage for your content and account data.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Google AI (Gemini)— generating articles, images, and replies. Prompts derived from your business profile and chosen keywords are sent to the Gemini API. Google's API terms restrict the use of submitted data for model training.
  • Your chosen publishing integration (e.g. Webflow, Wix, WordPress, Shopify) — to publish articles on your behalf. Only the data required for that integration is shared.

We may also disclose data when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or to protect the safety, rights, or property of RankFuel or our users.

4. Data Retention and Security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After cancellation, we keep account data for 30 days, after which we may permanently delete it. You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing hello@tryrankfuel.com. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and our infrastructure is hosted on services that are SOC 2 compliant.

5. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data via your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Delete your data — either by canceling your account or by emailing a deletion request.
  • Export generated articles and other content from the dashboard before canceling.
  • Object to certain types of processing (such as marketing emails) without losing access to the service.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@tryrankfuel.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

6. Third-Party Services

RankFuel does not use third-party tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, or Facebook Pixel. We do not embed third-party advertising scripts, and we do not share user data with advertisers or data brokers.

When you click external links from RankFuel (e.g. a Reddit thread or a documentation page), the destination site has its own privacy practices that we don't control.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this URL with the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be communicated by email when we have one on file.
